  1. I am contacting you about the Illinois Works Pre-apprenticeship Program (Notice of Funding Opportunity 2614-2584). Is this the same opportunity that was released earlier this year (CSFA Number 420-30-3137) or is this a new grant?

xCSFA Number 420-30-3137 is a different program from a different bureau at DCEO. The Illinois Works program is presently running a network of 29 providers located throughout and this new NOFO is looking to expand that network described in the NOFO. CSFA Number 420-30-3137 is for a new pre-apprenticeship program, and not part of Illinois Works.

  2. Can we apply for multiple cohorts/sites in one single application or if we are required to submit a separate application for each cohort/site.

You do not have to apply for different cohorts to be delivered in the same location (for instance, Chicago) or for multiple cohorts in different addresses in the same service area (for instance, if you plan to apply to deliver multiple cohorts in the City of Chicago in different addresses). However, if you plan to apply to deliver services in multiple cities/towns, you do need to submit an application for each of those towns ( for instance, one for Chicago, one for Rockford, one for Springfield, IL, etc.).

  3. Checking that applying for funding for broadband infrastructure training program is eligible for funding through the IL Works Pre-Apprenticeship Program NOFO? Is it for non-profits or for profits as well?

The Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship NOFO, funding, and programming is completely separate and different than Broadband’s infrastructure training funding or NOFO. Also, for our funding, for-profit organizations cannot directly apply, but they can apply as a partner of a non-profit or a qualifying entity applying for the funds.

  4. Would this [Illinois Works Pre-apprenticeship Program grant] also apply to persons with developmental disabilities and organizations that serve them?

Yes, this applies to the population you described as long as the applying organizations can properly articulate how they would train and then successfully transition (into employment and DOL-registered apprenticeship programs) these Illinois residents to construction and the trades.
