In June 2013, participating state agencies and the Office of the Governor entered into an agreement which established the governance structure of ILDS.
The Governing Board works to establish a set of tools, systems, and processes that are both internal and shared across state agencies to support the analysis and understanding of lifelong education and workforce policies and programs.
ILDS supports sound, research-based decision-making within and across agencies and for all state education and workforce policy makers. The Governing Board facilitates this process by working to address effectively those issues that are common across agencies, such as how data is accessed, used, secured, and then shared in accordance with established procedures and rules. The Board also engages external advisors from across the education and workforce landscape to ensure that the system is inclusive of multiple perspectives and audiences.
