  • Aggregate Outcomes

These are measures that combine outcome information from all training programs for a specific occupation or for a specific training provider. All outcomes information is based on data from the past three (3) years.

Example of aggregate outcomes by training provider: The provider "Computer Training Institute of Chicago" has 12 WIOA training completers from 17 different WIOA certified training programs. The aggregate measures by provider for "Computer Training Institute of Chicago" represent the combined outcomes for all 17 WIOA certified training programs, which includes all 12 people who completed training with this provider.

Example of aggregate outcomes by occupation: There are 25 training providers for the occupation Computer Support Specialist, with 40 WIOA completers from these 25 different WIOA training providers. The aggregate measures by occupation for Computer Support Specialist represent the combined outcomes for all 25 WIOA certified training programs for Computer Support Specialist, which includes all 40 people who completed training across all training providers.

  • Average wage for all jobs

This is the average wage among WIOA training completers who obtained any type of job (whether or not the job is related to the training). The average is calculated by adding the wages of all WIOA completers who found any type of job and dividing that number by the number of completers who found a job. All outcomes information is based on data from the past three (3) years.

Example of average wage for all job: Of 15 completers,12 got jobs.

Of the 12 who got any type of job, the average wage for all jobs is $17.00 an hour.

  • Average wage for training-related job

This is the average wage among WIOA training completers who obtained a job in the industry or occupation for which the WIOA training prepared them. The average is calculated by adding the wages of all WIOA completers who found training-related jobs and dividing that number by the number of completers who found training-related jobs. All outcomes information is based on data from the past three (3) years.

Example of average wage for training-related jobs: Of 14 people who completed training, 12 got jobs. 10 of these 12 completers obtained jobs in found jobs in construction, which is related to the WIOA training.

To get the average wage for training-related jobs, we take the wages of the 10 completers who found a job in construction and divide that by 10, which is the total number of completers in training related jobs. The average training-related wage is $15.00 an hour.

  • Completers

These are WIOA training participants who are no longer enrolled in a WIOA program and successfully completed WIOA training. This measure does not include those still currently enrolled in the training. All outcomes information is based on data from the past three (3) years.

  • Completion Rate

This is the number of people who successfully completed WIOA training before exiting the program divided by the total number of people who are no longer enrolled in the program ("exiters"). Individuals still enrolled in the program are not included in this measure. All outcomes information is based on data from the past three (3) years.
Example: 20 people were enrolled in a WIOA training program. 18 of the 20 exited the program, while 2 are still enrolled. Of the 18 "exiters," 16 of them successfully completed the training. The completion rate is therefore 16 divided by 18 or 89 percent.

  • Eligible Training Providers
Part of the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) federal legislation provides funding for individuals to retrain for a new occupation. If an individual is eligible for WIOA retraining money, they are awarded an Individual Training Account (ITA). ITAs can be used only at approved schools for WIOA certified programs. Eligible Training Providers offer training programs that are currently eligible by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (Commerce) and the Illinois Workforce Development System (IWDS).
  • Employment rate for all jobs

This is the number of training completers who have exited WIOA and obtained any type of job (whether or not this job is related to their training) divided by the total number of people who successfully completed WIOA training (completer) and exited the WIOA system.
Example: 25 people successfully completed and exited a WIOA training program. Of the 25 "exiters" 15 of them got jobs. The employment rate for all jobs is therefore 15 divided by 25 or 60 percent.

  • Employment rate for training-related jobs

This is the number of training completers who have exited WIOA and obtained training-related jobs divided by the total number of training completers who have exited WIOA and obtained any type of job.
Example: 15 people successfully completed and exited a WIOA training program for "computer support specialist" and got jobs. Of those 15 who got jobs, 11 of them got jobs in computing, which is related to their training. The employment rate for training-related jobs is therefore 11 divided by 15 or 73 percent.

  • Exiters

A person who has completed the program, has been inactivated, or who has gone for 90 days without receiving any WIA funded or partner funded services, and who is not scheduled for any services in the future, except for follow-up services. Under WIA Title I, clients will be counted as having exited the program unless services are currently being received, have been received within the last 90 days, or are scheduled to be received in the future.

  • Job Family

This is a group or category of many similar occupations.

  • N/A

This means that the information is "not available" for this measure. In some cases, the sample size (total number of people included in the measure) is too small for us to report. We only report outcomes data when there were at least 5 people applicable to each measure. This is NOT a negative mark for the provider or program. If the samples sizes are too small to report, aggregate outcomes may be available. All outcomes information is based on data from the past three (3) years.

  • Occupation

This is the category for specific types of jobs. This is more specific than the job family.

  • Range of wages

This measure includes the 25th percentile to 75th percentile range of wages training completers have received once employed post-training. The lower or smaller number represents the 25th percentile, where 25 percent of all completers make less than this amount. The higher or bigger number represents the 75th percentile, where 75 percent of all completers make less than this number and only 25 percent of all completers make more than this amount. The 25th and 75th percentiles provide a general low and high wage amount received from those employed after training completion. All outcomes information is based on data from the past three (3) years.

  • WIOA-Certified Training Program

An educational class or series of classes that provide training to individuals looking to gain or enhance their skills for a specific occupation. WIOA-certified programs are those certified to provide training to individuals with WIOA training vouchers (or Individual Training Accounts).

  • WIOA-Enrollment

Total number of WIOA-training participants enrolled in a WIOA-certified training program during the last 3 years. Note that a program may include other, non-WIOA participants.
