The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014 requires the Governor of each State to outline a four-year strategy for the State's workforce development system encompassing the following core federal programs: WIOA Title IB, Title II-Adult Education, Title III-Wagner-Peyser, and Title IV-Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
The WIOA Unified State Plan is designed to provide a vision of the Governor's integration of workforce, education and economic development policy and includes principles, goals and strategies to achieve the vision.
The plan includes input from leaders in business, economic development, education and training, workforce development, organized labor, advocates for populations with barriers to employment and experts on economic and labor market information.
The 2020 Unified State Plan was approved by DOL & DOE on May 29, 2020.
