The Employer Outreach Postcard, Email Template and Flyers were created by CompTIA with input from participating job developers as a way to attract possible work-based-learning opportunities through local employers. The postcard is designed as a method to grab the attention of employers you have not yet created a relationship with. It is in a Microsoft Word format which allows you to customize a number of areas on both sides. If you choose to manipulate the font size, be sure to leave open room at the bottom of the postcard for the post office’s delivery barcode. If you print your postcards using a regular printer, be sure to choose size A4 paper as your print option. This will ensure you get a true postcard size of 4X6. For all tools, keep in mind that you can customize them to meet the needs of your center. If you have a variety of programs, or are targeting a variety of employers, create multiple documents highlighting different certifications or employment titles. The email template is a way to connect with employers you have already met or have been introduced to, as a way to entice them to learn more about working with your center. This template follows the same message as the postcard and is similarly customizable. This will also be delivered in a Microsoft Word format which should allow the use with email marketing services. Finally, a flyer is available for display at job fairs, posting in local shops and restaurants, as well as for delivering along with your business card as you meet new employers.
