Rosalia Boccardi, Bid Credit Program Manager
Hello! I’m Rosa Boccardi, Bid Credit Program (BCP) Monitor in the IL Works Springfield Office. I am originally from St. Louis, MO, and lived there most of my adult life. I come from an authentic Italian family, who has owned an Italian restaurant on “The Hill” for over fifty years. While all three of my siblings have continued the family restaurant tradition, I opted for a college degree, eventually landing me with the State of Illinois!
As the second addition to the BCP Team, I started with the Office of IL Works back in June of this year (2024). I have been a State employee for over seven years, five of them with DCEO. In my previous roles with DCEO, I worked as a Grant Manager with both the Offices of Community Development and Employment and Training. Prior to working for the State, I worked primarily in accounting and banking.
For the past fourteen years, I have lived in the Springfield area with my two children, Jack and Nikkie. Since both of my kids are college age I spend most of my time with our most recent addition, Jimmy the mini poodle. Jimmy loves chasing squirrels and eating food! My interests are enjoying nature, focusing on health and nutrition, and learning about the Bible. My favorite activities are reading and walking Jimmy with Nikkie. I also love to travel and explore other cultures. One of my most memorable adventures was last year was on a mission trip to Nairobi, Kenya.
