Illinois workNet is a portal that provides residents with access to career, education, and work support services. This portal also provides employers with access to information for finding employees and training resources and accessing information about doing business in Illinois.
The State of Illinois, Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University, and the web services provided through this portal do not guarantee the currency, accuracy, or quality of the information stored or referred to here. If misleading or otherwise inappropriate information is brought to our attention, a reasonable effort will be made to correct or remove it. Use of this service is limited to individuals, employers, policymakers, planners, and analysts who agree to hold the State of Illinois, DCEO, and Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University harmless for any use of the information for reasons other than the stated purpose.
This portal is not and shall not be considered an employer, and this portal shall not be responsible for any employment decisions, for whatever reason, made by any user, company, or firm posting jobs or seeking workers through the job search services provided within this portal. You shall solely be responsible for evaluating and determining which prospective employers you communicate with. You further agree that the specific terms and conditions of your transactions with prospective employers initiated by or through the portal's use shall be determined by you and such prospective employer or employee.
The State of Illinois, DCEO, Board of Trustees of Southern Illinois University, and the job search services provided through this portal are merely providing a venue and a conduit for your convenience to facilitate your interactions with prospective employers and do not represent themselves as employers, agents or otherwise involved in the interaction between prospective employees and employers or the employment process between parties using this portal.
The user understands that information entered on the system may be exchanged between state agencies and approved service providers for the purpose stated.
An authenticated user will set up a password and username through the site’s registration process. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password and username. You are fully responsible for all activities under your password and account. You agree to notify Illinois workNet of the unauthorized use of your account or any other security breach. Illinois workNet will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this section. Authenticated users may update, otherwise modify, or delete from the data they stored on Illinois workNet. After the deletion, the deleted material will no longer be available. Similarly, information that has been updated or otherwise modified will appear in its then-most current form rather than in the form it may have been submitted earlier.
We reserve the right to change, modify, add, or remove portions of this Agreement at any time. Please check these terms periodically for changes. By agreeing to this Agreement, you agree that each time you visit our portal, you shall be subject to and bound by the then-current terms of this Agreement. Grant of LicenseThis Agreement provides you with a personal, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to use this portal conditioned on your continued compliance with the Terms and Conditions of this Agreement. You are authorized to view and access a single copy of the content available on or from Illinois workNet (the "web portal") solely for your personal, noncommercial use. You may print and download materials and information on this portal solely for personal and noncommercial use, provided that all hard copies contain all copyright and other applicable notices contained in such materials and information. Notwithstanding the foregoing and except as otherwise expressly permitted herein, you may not modify, copy, distribute, broadcast, transmit, reproduce, publish, license, transfer, sell, mirror, frame, or otherwise use any information or material obtained from or through this portal.
Intellectual Property RightsUnless otherwise indicated, all material on this portal is protected by law, including, but not limited to, United States copyright, trade secret, and trademark law, as well as other state, national, and international laws and regulations. Workforce Professionals Pathway (WPP) AccountsAll workforce professionals will be assigned one identifier which is unique to that person. For authentication, each ID issued must have a password associated with it. Each covered user has authorized access only to that information necessary to perform the covered user's assigned responsibilities. Unauthorized access to information other than that stated above is strictly prohibited. All users must safeguard all DCEO information and consider it proprietary and confidential unless otherwise designated. Care must ensure that information is not disseminated to unauthorized persons or otherwise improperly disclosed, even inadvertently. When sending confidential information to shared resources, reasonable judgment must be exercised.
Password RequirementsPasswords that allow access to the Illinois workNet portal shall be confidential and protected by assigned users to prevent unauthorized use and release of information. WPP accounts (case managers) linked to Illinois Workforce Development System (IWDS) must have a current IWDS account/password to access IWDS customer information through Illinois workNet.
Electronic Mail/Messages to CustomersWorkforce Professionals are prohibited from sending or requesting information that:
- Is unlawful, vulgar, a personal attack of any kind, innuendo, an unsupported accusation, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of another’s privacy, tortuous, obscene, sexually explicit or graphic, or otherwise in violation of this Website’s policies;
- Victimizes, harasses, degrades, or intimidates an individual or group of individuals based on religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age or disability;
- Infringes any patent, trademark, service mark, trade secret, copyright, moral right, right of publicity, privacy, or other proprietary right of any party;
- Constitutes unauthorized or unsolicited advertising, promotes non-governmental financial interests, any other form of unauthorized solicitation, or any form of lottery or gambling;
- Contains software viruses or any other computer code, files, or programs that are designed or intended to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any software, hardware, or telecommunications equipment or to damage or obtain unauthorized access to any data or other information of any third party;
- Impersonates any person or entity, including any employee or representative of Illinois workNet;
- Otherwise inhibits, restricts, or adversely affects the Government’s and/or the public’s ability to use the website for its intended purposes;
- Constitutes fund-raising, lobbying, or political activity that promotes non-governmental financial interests.
Employee Resignation/Termination/Leave of Absence
Access to Illinois workNet Workforce Professional Pathway (WPP) will be immediately deactivated when a user terminates employment at an Illinois workNet partner location. Access to IWDS customers through the WPP will be removed at the beginning of any leave of absence unless a written request for an exception is submitted to and approved by the employee's supervisor and ITM.
