1. Are the Skills & Interests Surveys going away?
   
   
   The Skills & Interests Surveys will still be available through the Illinois Career Information System (CIS), provided by the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES). However, once the new Interest Profiler is launched, survey results will no longer be connected to your Illinois workNet account.
   
   
   
2. As a partner, will I be able to access my customer’s information for workNet’s Interest Profiler assessment?

3. How do I access the new workNet Interest Profiler assessment?
   
   
   Log in to your Illinois workNet account and go to My Dashboard to access the Interest Profiler once it becomes available.
   

   
   
4. How do I export my results?
   
   
   • Log in to your Illinois workNet account.
   • Click Skills & Interests located in the Header (orange ribbon) to go to Illinois CIS360.
   • On the Illinois CIS360 page, click My Dashboard.
   • Click Self-Survey Results.
   • Select a survey title.
   • Click the orange Export PDF in the top right corner.
   • The survey results will be downloaded.
   • Repeat this for each survey.
     

   
   
5. How is the Interest Profiler different from other self-guided assessment tools?
   
   

   ​Several sites offer self-guided assessments for job seekers. The new Illinois workNet Interest Profiler has similar functionality, but responses are geared toward Illinois job seekers. Surveys use the same methods as the O*NET Career Exploration Tools provided by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training. 
   

   The Interest Profiler results show job demand, annual openings, required education, and approximate income based on Illinois data from the Illinois Department of Employment Security.​​

7. What tool should I use instead?
   
   
   Illinois workNet recommends using the (coming soon) workNet Interest Profiler assessment as the primary alternative.

10. Where does the Labor Market Information in the new Interest Profiler come from?
    
    
    Illinois workNet's new Interest Profiler displays Labor Market Information from Illinois‑based data provided by the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES). This information includes job demand, projected annual job openings, typical education or training requirements, and estimated wages. Using IDES data ensures that Interest Profiler results reflect current labor-market conditions specific to Illinois.​​

12. Why are the Skills & Interests Surveys being replaced?
    
    

    ​Illinois workNet will replace the Skills & Interests Surveys on June 8, 2026, with more modern assessment tools designed to better support individuals and workforce partners, while aligning with the Illinois Workforce Development System (IWDS).

    
    
13. Will Illinois workNet still offer other assessments?
    
    
    Only assessments under Skills & Interests Surveys will be phased out in June 2026 when the new Interest Profiler launches. Illinois workNet continues to offer Employment 101 and additional assessments. Partners can access information on Assessments here.
