The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) provides leadership, assistance, resources and advocacy so that every student is prepared to succeed in careers and postsecondary education.
ISBE first deployed its Student Information System statewide in the 2005-06 school year, and now collects student enrollment, demographic, program, course assignment, course grades, teacher assignment, and assessment data. Over the past decade, ISBE has also built out its systems for collecting school-level and educator information. In recent years, ISBE has undertaken various projects to better integrate its internal data systems and provide data back to school districts for education decision-making.
