ILDS Priority Area
The ILDS Governing Board established early childhood as a priority area for data integration.
Specifically, one key project is to merge early childhood data maintained by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to better understand the characteristics and outcomes of children who​ receive early childhood services in Illinois.

The Centralized Demographic Dataset (CDD) administrator successfully merged Childcare and Preschool data from agencies to create an unduplicated count of children receiving services through State programs and for early childhood innovation zones. Preliminary findings were presented to the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development.​
